Note by the Secretariat

The secretariat has the honour to transmit to the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee, in the annex to the present note, the text of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities. Attention is drawn, in particular, to paragraphs 87-90 and 100-106, which deal specifically with persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
