Overview

As of February 2025, the following POPs listed in Annexes A and B to the Stockholm Convention have industrial uses:

  • Annex A:
    • Decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE)
    • Dechlorane Plus (DP)
    • Hexabromobiphenyl (HBB)
    • Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)
    • Hexabromodiphenyl ether (HexaBDE) and heptabromodiphenyl ether (HeptaBDE)
    • Hexachlorobenzene (HCB)
    • Hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD)
    • Pentachlorobenzene (PeCBz)
    • Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts and PFHxS-related compounds
    • Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds
    • Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
    • Polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs)
    • Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs)
    • Tetrabromodiphenyl ether (TetraBDE) and pentabromodiphenyl ether (PentaBDE)

  • Annex B:
    • Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOSF).
