This guidance document has been developed and updated to guide Parties in their actions to prevent or reduce releases of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) from uses/applications under the specific exemptions listed in the Convention.
National Stockholm Convention focal points, the project coordination unit implementing the NIP review and update project, and task teams responsible for conducting PBDEs inventories and developing action plans for managing PBDEs.

The process for the review and update of the guidelines and guidance on best available techniques and best environmental practices has been initiated by decision SC-6/10 and is conducted by the experts nominated by parties and others through the joint Toolkit and best available techniques and best environmental practices expert roster.
