I. Introduction

1. In its decisions SC-9/10, on the operation of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee, the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants requested the Secretariat to continue, subject to the availability of resources, to undertake activities to support Parties, incoming members, and newly designated or appointed experts to participate effectively in the process for reviewing and listing new chemicals under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and the work of the Committee and to report on the results of those activities to the Conference of the Parties at its tenth meeting. Such activities are implemented in line with the technical assistance plan for the implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions for the period 2018–2021 and as part of activities 6 and 13 of the programme of work of the conventions.
