The fourth meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee took place on 13-17 October 2008 in Geneva. The report of the meeting is available here.
In decision POPRC-4/8, the Committee requested the intersessional working group on effective participation amongst others to develop a shorter version of the handbook on effective participation, (“pocket guide”) which includes the core elements of the handbook, focuses on the elements of data collection and submission and should, subject to the availability of funding, be translated into the six official languages of the United Nations.
Parties and observers are invited to review the draft document and to submit the comments no later than 29 July 2009. Submissions are most appreciated in electronic files by e-mail to ssc@pops.int.
